TAI CHI INTENSIVES
with Martin MellishTai Chi is a meditation, a health practice, a martial art, art a way of life. Its essence is simple - breath, life, openness, letting go, and finding once more within ourselves the primal innocence and joy of a child.
Yet so ingrained are our tensions, and so scary sometimes the experience of living without them, that the simple and gentle movements of Tai Chi can challenge us in a way that no external exercise form ever could. This path is effortless, yet requires an extraordinary quality of commitment.
These two intensives offer an experiential introduction to the art, its principles, and its benefits. Formatted as two 9-week series providing a systematic and rounded instruction to the whole spectrum of Tai Chi, as well as teaching a classic Tai Chi form that you can take with you wherever you go.
The Tai Chi Intensive Series is offered in two levels:
6:15-7:30 p.m. Tai Chi I: Walk Like a Cat (beginning level)
7:30-8:45 p.m. Tai Chi II: The Long River (teacher permission)
Both Intensives start on Monday on Jan 11th and go until until Mar 8th. Cost for Series: $89 for all 9 classes.
A Taste of Tai Chi (sampler class) to gain a perspective of Martin's teachings is scheduled:
Monday, Jan 4th, 6.15-7.30 p.m.,(drop-in - $10 or MMI class card)
Pre-registration is requested for Intensive. Sign Up Here for Intensives
