Swamiji is a French-born teacher and practitioner of the most ancient, scientifically-based form of yoga, Kriya. His message is that of practical spirituality. States Swamiji: "We live in an age where many in the West are searching for something more meaningful than mindless consumerism. The practice of Kriya Yoga is simple and direct, working on the mind, body and spirit simultaneously. It is perfectly designed for our hectic Western lifestyle.” This very entertaining speaker uses amusing stories, music, pictures, and video to show how simple techniques can transform one’s life.

Swamiji’s own experience is testimony to how a life can be utterly changed. He admits to being on the downhill road to despair, as a French anarchist during the late 1970s. His transformation began as the personal attendant to the last living "realized" master of Kriya Yoga. From this extraordinary opportunity, he moved into a remote hut in the Himalayas to contemplate life's mysteries, emerging two years later with tireless enthusiasm to help others. These days he travels non-stop to support orphanages, homes for widows, vocational schools, and yoga centers that he has founded across four continents.

His free lecture "The Art of Peace" will describe how outer peace can be achieved through inner transformation. It will introduce many aspects of Eastern teachings that are directly applicable to the lives of ordinary people here in the West. "I de-mystify mysticism, so that anyone can easily apply what I teach to improve all areas of their lives" explains Swamiji. Those who wish to learn the practice of Kriya yoga will be able to sign up for in-depth training that Swamiji will direct in the following days.

Kriya literally translated means the union of the inner and outer worlds. Its origins date back millennia, and although the technique was all but lost, it was reintroduced 150 years ago by the Indian sage Mahavatar Babaji. He realized its tremendous potential to change the external world by first focusing inwards. Kriya Yoga is unique in being the root from which all current forms of yoga originate. It is particularly applicable to Westerners because its benefits have been scientifically derived.

In addition to the public lecture, Swamiji will give a workshop on how Kriya Yoga practice can help those with mood disorders, anxiety and depression. He has direct experience of how Kriya Yoga has transformed the lives of people with depressive disorders.

To complete his support for the mind, spirit and body, Swamiji will teach an Ayurvedic Cooking class to those interested in improving their diets.
